|NWAL Officials needed for the 2020 Summer Season!!!|
Forest Oaks Swim Team is looking forward to a great 2020 swim season. One of the keys to our success is a dedicated group of officials. Thank you for volunteering. Our NWAL Rep will forward information to you, that we receive from NWAL, on training, certification and other officiating matters. We do however strongly encourage you to visit the NWAL website for updates, information and to schedule for Officials Training.
All new Stroke & Turn officials are required to attend a lecture session and on-deck training and then take an online open book test. Any officials that wish to advance their certification (i.e. from Stroke & Turn to Starter or from Starter to Referee) are required to attend the appropriate NWAL classes and on-deck training. Classes are available this year (2020) in April. Check the NWAL League/Calendar for dates.
REFEREE: We would like to have at least two qualified Referees on our team. You will first need to have had a season as a qualified Starter.
STARTER: We would like to have at least three qualified Starters on our team. You will first need to have had a season as a qualified Stroke and Turn Official.
STROKE & TURN OFFICIALS: Our goal is to have at least 12 trained Stroke and Turn Officials. Note: NWAL offer training courses on this and our existing FOST officials have expressed an interest in helping anyone who wishes to learn how to do this.
CLERK OF COURSE: The Clerk of Course is in charge of the official list of swimmers, dispatching them to their proper event and heat, computer entries and heat benches. This position requires NWAL training and certification.
Please contact our NWAL Rep TODAY if you are interested in becoming or continuing as an NWAL official.
As well as NWAL Officials the team can only function with every family's Parent Volunteer contributions!
