Divisional Time Announced
Hello All, The FOST Barracudas are having a great season!! We have posted an undefeated season against the 4 teams in our division. Hopefully we can keep up our winning ways this weekend (June 2) against our out-of-division opponents the Spring Cypress Stingrays. The Stingrays are from the division directly above us, so our Barracudas will need to put out their best effort this week for us to pull out a victory. Get those swimmers signed up for their best events and let's enjoy our last home meet and our last outdoor meet of the season!! On Saturday, June 9th, ALL FOST swimmers are encouraged to swim in our Divisional Championship meet. You do not have to qualify to swim at our Divisional meet. This is a huge meet that is being swum at Klein Collins High School. We will be swimming against the other 4 teams in our division, (the 4 teams we have already defeated). This meet is going to be different in many ways. Since we are swimming against 4 other teams the meet will last a bit longer. However, we are swimming in the high school's 8 lane pool, and we will only be running 1 relay team per age group. We are the Second division of the day to be swimming at Klein Collins on June 9th. So we are expected to arrive at the high school at approximately 3 pm and start the meet at 4:15 pm. The Division that is swimming before us has a timeline that has them finishing by 2:30 pm. We will be communicating a more accurate schedule as the meet gets closer. We will be posting our warm-up schedule and volunteer assignments as we get closer to this Championship meet. An approximate timeline for a meet with 5 teams participating is going to last until approximately 10 pm. I am aware this is not the ideal arrangement that we all want for our Divisional Championship meet. This is the hand we were dealt by our governing body, NWAL. We were scheduled to swim at Cy-Springs high school in the morning of June 9th, but the Cy-Fair ISD officials pulled the plug on that arrangement. Nobody but the Cy-Fair ISD is to be blamed. Your FOST board is not happy about it, but powerless to change the situation. "Adversity causes some men to break; others to break records"--William Arthur Ward. Swim Fast Barracudas!!
