IMPORTANT FOST/FOSRC REMINDERS - Please read
April 23rd
What an amazing first week of practice. It was so good to see our swimmers so excited to be back and eager to jump in and show their improved skills! We wanted to take a moment and say thank you for making the first week so memorable and enjoyable!
FOSRC and FOST are excited for the season and want to make sure that everyone is aware of the following information:
- Parking
- If you not a member of the Forest Oaks Swim and Racquet Club, you must park at in the lower lot by the tennis courts, at Lemm Elementary, in the Forest Oaks Park parking lots, or along Cypress Oaks. The upper lot between the pavilion and office is for members only and those spots are for those using the gym or visiting the office.
- If you are not a member and found to be parked in the upper lot, your vehicle could be ticketed or towed at your expense.
- Please do not park at School of the Pines, along Joanleigh Dr., or along Chisos Trail.
- Drop off
- Drop off is located by the water tower area in the lower lot.
- The sidewalk from the lower tennis court parking lot is open and your swimmers can safely walk up that sidewalk.
- Pool entry gates
- both gates by the tennis courts are open for entry during practices and you may use either. The main gate by the gym is not available for swim team use as with previous seasons.
- Tennis
- We still have Rivera Tennis Academy/tennis leagues using our courts. Things may be congested at times so please be considerate of others.
- Swim team members, family members, or guests are not allowed on tennis courts unless you are a member of the club and are playing tennis.
- Pool Deck
- As in previous years, parents are not allowed on the pool deck during practices. The gates are now closed and only swimmers, coaches, and board members will be permitted on deck.
- Viewing area
- All FOST parents may view practice from the pool house plaza area only.
- The decision for this seating area was made by the swim team board, not FOSRC pool management. It was made out of safety concerns for you and your family and allow for more room.
- No parents or family members may sit under the main awning along the sidewalk as this will create congestion.
- At the end of the night, all chairs should be stacked and pushed against a wall or fence under the pool house. Please do not leave chairs out and around the facility.
- Make sure you have all your belongings before leaving the facility. Lost and Found items from swim will be handled by FOST Board Members and coaches, not Forest Oaks Swim and Racquet Club.
- Towels
- It is suggested to bring 2 towels, especially for the littles. One can be used on deck when not in the water and the other one can be used after practice. We understand during April and the crazy Texas weather it can be chilly.
- Age Groups
- All swimmers must swim with their own age groups and at their own scheduled times. We understand everyone’s schedules can be difficult but for safety and skills we need to make sure they are in their proper swimming age group.
- Required parental supervision
- Your children are your responsibility. Please do not let them wander around unsupervised. If they are found to be unsupervised by FOST board members or reported to Forest Oaks Admin, you may be asked to leave the facility.
- Do not allow your kids to climb on railings, poles, tables, trees, retaining walls, or play on stairs.
- Trash/food/drink
- All swim team families are responsible for picking up trash in and around the pool house. Please do not leave trash on the ground as it will end up in the pool. Take pride in our facilities and do your part to keep them clean and beautiful.
- If food or drinks is spilled, please pick it up and clean the area so it does not attract ants or other insects.
- There are plenty of trash cans around the facility, so please use them.
- Bathrooms
- Young children should be supervised in the bathrooms by their parent or legal guardian.
- Kids should not be climbing on toilets, locking stall doors and then crawling out underneath, or leaving a mess in the bathrooms.
- If you go into a bathroom and there are issues, please report this to a FOST Board Member immediately.
- Weather / Practice cancellations
- If weather is an issue for practice, the board will post on the FOST Facebook page and send an email as soon as a decision is made. Please understand it may be right before practice as Texas weather is a bit crazy. These decisions are not made lightly, it is for the safety of your swimmers, parents, and coaches. You can download the Weatherbug app to see when lightening is within a certain distance of the facility that warrants a stop or cancellation of practice.
- Questions/Concerns
- if you have questions or concerns for the coaches, please email them or ask a board member. Coaches need to be in the pool or on deck focused on the swimmers at all times. In most cases, a board member can answer the question or get the answer quickly.
We thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain safety for our swimmers and for our beautiful facility and are excited for the 2025 season!
