Team information

Hello Barracudas!!

As we kick off our season we wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all our parents for being a part of FOST! We overload yโ€™all with Facebook posts and emails to help the season run as smooth as possible! We are excited for our season to get started on Saturday!

Black & Green Time Trial Meet information will go out this weekend ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–ค

A few things that came up that we would like to provide additional information for:

1. If weather is an issue for practice, the board will post on this page and send an email as soon as we make a decision. Please understand it may be right before practice as Texas weather is a bit crazy.

The rule is: If there is lightning within 10 miles or under, swimmers have to clear the water for 30 minutes. If thunder or lightning is heard/seen during that 30 minutes, the clock resets. If there is lightning within 5 miles and under, everyone has to leave the pool deck (get outside the gates). Same time rules apply as with the 10 miles.

If the pool facility is without power for hours the pool will rise & overflow and without power, they cannot open up the valves to backwash it, and the chemicals become unlevel. They will always notify us if we have to cancel due to these issues or any other issues.

2. As in previous years, parents are not allowed on the pool deck during practices only swimmers, coaches, and board members will be permitted on deck.

3. Do we have to wear/have a team suit - No. We don't require a team suit. Black is preferable. If you would like one, they can be purchased at Kiefer Aquatics. But all suits must be a 1 piece.

Goggles - if you are a first-time swimmer, it is suggested you visit Kiefer Aquatics so they can help best fit your child. But please do not get the solid piece goggles (the ones that cover up the nose) as they will hurt your swimmer when they dive in.

Swim Caps - they are not required, but highly recommended. Silicone is suggested as it doesn't rip as easily or pull the hair. Team caps will be available for purchase, but any fun-colored cap would work just fine.

A swim store option online is: swimoutlet.com

4. Towels- It is suggested to bring 2 towels, especially for the littles. 1 for them to take on deck and 1 for when they get back to you - they are COLD!

5. All swimmers must swim with their age groups and at their own scheduled times. We understand everyoneโ€™s schedules can be difficult but for safety and skills, we need to make sure they are in their proper swimming age group.

6. If registration payment has not been rec'd (and not previously discussed with the treasurer) please bring it to the meet on Saturday and it can be given to a board member. This also applies to the $250 un-dated volunteer deposit checks.

7. Parents - if you have questions or concerns for the coaches, please email them or ask a board member. Coaches need to be in the pool or on deck focused on the swimmers at all times. In most cases, a board member can answer the question or get the answer quickly.

We appreciate you and are excited for this swim season! If you have any additional questions, please let us know. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ–ค๐ŸŠ
