Season Wrap Up

Thanks to all of you for making the 2015 Forest Oaks Swim Team a fantastic year. We had 193 swimmers sign up for the team this year, and we will continue to improve and grow stronger. FOST Barracuda swimmers had part in 29 new records this season, representing both individual and team strength. We placed 2nd in our Division and won 3 of our dual meets. Quite a few of our swimmers qualified for end of season Invitationals, which produced even more ribbons and medals for our team.

FOST's success is a direct result of a lot of hard work by all who volunteered, our coaches, and board members. To all of you, who volunteered, THANK YOU!! It takes over 120 volunteers to make a swim meet operate smoothly, and we appreciate everyone’s support. Head Coach Alie Mielitz did a fantastic job with our team, and her commitment to the development or your swimmers is outstanding. Assistant Coaches, Courtney Bihm, Jimmy Yoder, and Saidee Burrage were fantastic with the swimmers, and really worked to get the best out of each swimmer. The FOST Board meets, plans, and develops all year long to ensure that our 10 week season runs as smoothly as possible. These volunteer board members for 2015 were:

Tammy Woodeshick-President

Lisa Williams-Treasurer

Lisa Huste-Volunteer Coordinator

Lori Gonzales-Hospitality/Concessions

Soledad Garza-Secretary

Heidi Moss-Public Relations

Ted Olsen-NWAL Rep

Eric Roberts-Equipment Manager

Phil Sommer-Registrar

Two of our board members are stepping down after this season, and we want to recognize them for their hard work and dedication to this team. Lisa Huste, our volunteer coordinator (for 2 seasons) has done a fantastic job organizing and getting our volunteers involved. Ted Olsen, our NWAL Rep, has worked for 13 seasons as a valuable board member on the FOST. He has worked tirelessly for this team, from recruiting volunteers, setting up equipment, negotiating divisional deals, etc. Ted Olsen is one of the reason's the FOST is as strong as it is.  Thanks to both of you, you will be missed.

Today, we are excited to introduce 2 new board members. Kevin Warman, our head timer, is joining the board and we look forward to working with him, and using his strengths to build our team. Jill Hayes, timer, scribe and volunteer extraordinaire, is also joining the board and we look forward to working with her. We are excited to welcome them to the board.

We really appreciate Jody Dellinger and the FOSRC staff for all the facility work they have done for our team. We are blessed to be able compete, train, and socialize at our top-notch facility. Compared to other teams, we really have it extremely good.

All of our wonderful sponsors significantly helped our team succeed this season.  A Huge Thank You to all them:

Our sponsor's donations help keep our registration costs lower than most teams, and we will be continuing our sponsorship drive again for next season. Remember, bringing in good sponsors to the FOST can help your swimmer(s) swim for free next season!

Our Cudathon fundraiser this year was a tremendous success! We raised $5,140 toward new starting blocks for our pool. Our swimmers put their maximum effort into their swiming and fundraising, and because of their efforts, we will have at least 6 new starting blocks in time for next season!

Thank you for swimming with us and being part of the FOST Barracuda family. We hope you all have a restful and peaceful summer. We look forward seeing you at Registration next spring!

Swim Fast!
