Weather Protocol and Divisionals Week Update

Howdy everyone!

I just wanted to remind everyone of how we will be determining any and all practice cancelations since it has been a while since we've had weather warnings like this. We will be determining any and all cancelations on a practice-by-practice basis. The LAST thing we want to do (especially this week) is to cancel practice. With that said, ALL communications will come out via the website first, then email/texting, and lastly the Facebook page. PLEASE look on the website before you ask if we will be having practice. We will be sure to give you at least 30 minutes warning if there is any cancelations. We WILL be postponing because of thunder/lightning before we cancel, so please plan on coming to your normal practice and be prepared to wait 15 minutes for every thunder heard/lightning seen.

Secondly, since it is Divisionals week I thought I would fill everyone in on my practice game plans. If you are not familiar with swimming you may not understand what a taper means. To keep it short, it means that we will be rapidly decreasing the amount of meters we swim in order to keep our swimmers rested and ready to drop lots of time at the meet. With that said, since we are doing less in practice, we will be in the water less, so please be prepared to pick up your swimmers anywhere from 5-10 minutes early from their regularly scheduled practice end times. The lay out of our practices will be a longer warm up, short work set, and then time spent on starts/turns. I still strongly advise everyone to bring some water or gatorade as staying hydrated is crucial this week!
