Forest Oaks Swim Team Announces New Learn to Swim Academy-Barracuda Splash.

Forest Oaks Swim Team (FOST) is starting a new program that will give the children and grandchildren of WCID 110 residents affordable access to swim lessons. Water safety and the ability to swim is extremely important for everyone, especially children. The new Barracuda Splash program will be held at the newly resurfaced pool at the Forest Oaks Swim and Racquet Club. This new program is extremely convenient and inexpensive for all those children ages 3-8 who are needing to learn to swim.

This new Barracuda Splash program is sponsored, supported, and underwritten by the FOST. Forest Oaks Swim Team has been involved in Summer League Swimming since 1971. The team swims under the rules and authority of NWAL (Northwest Aquatics League). FOST is the official swim team of Water District 110.Our team has open registration to all swimmers from the ages 4-18. All of our practices are at the Forest Oaks Swim and Racquet Club (FOSRC).

There is no better way to meet your neighbors and join a community of parents, than Forest Oaks Swim Team. While the adults are socializing, the children are participating in one of the healthiest sports that we know.

Barracuda Splash Facts:

  1. Registration for the 2018 season is March 25, 2018 and April 12, 2018.
  2. First lessons for Barracuda Splash are April 23, 2018 and ending on May 31, 2018.
  3. Lessons are 30 minutes long.Lesson times with be 4-4:30 or 4:30-5 pm.
  4. Lessons are Monday through Thursday and are six weeks in length.
  5. 24 lessons (weather and circumstances permitting)
  6. There may be up to 4 kids involved in each lesson with a single coach.
  7. Certified Coaches Tiffani Cruz and Michelle Rose are heading up Barracuda Splash.
  8. Cost for our Barracuda Splash Program is $110 per student (less than $5 per lesson).
  9. If your little swimmer shows great progress and can swim across the pool (25 meters) in less than 90 seconds, they have the opportunity to swim with the FOST at no additional charge.
  10. This will be the most affordable, professional learn to swim program available around.

Forest Oaks Swim Team Barracudas are Excited about 2018 Season

FOST is looking forward to our 47th season of Summer League swimming. The Barracudas will be back at work to try to duplicate their 2016 Divisional Championship. FOST is the official swim team of WCID 110, and we have the honor of training, practicing, and swimming at the Forest Oaks Swim and Racquet Club. FOSRC has resurfaced our pool and it looks better than ever!!

FOST will start training on April 23rd and our Divisional meet is on June 16th. This is a perfect opportunity to get your child into a sport that is super healthy along with being around more friends here than anywhere else. FOST is the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors and join with your community with a common goal.

We have decided to keep our registration at $110 again this year. FOST is open to all kids who are able to swim at any ability (but they must be able to swim). For little ones that are not able to swim yet, please see our new Barracuda Splash program. Our swimmers are ages 4-18. FOST Barracudas is the best way to see your kids grow physically and develop friendships that they will keep through school and possibly beyond.

FOST has the best parental involvement and the best camaraderie of any swim team in the area. We like to have a lot of fun. Our setup nights become small parties, and our socials are not to be missed.

FOST Barracuda 2018 Facts:

  1. Registration is March 25, 2018 and April 12, 2018.
  2. First Practice is April 23rd and last regular season practice is June 15th.
  3. Black/Green meet is May 5th, and Divisional Meet is June 16th.
  4. Swimmers have the opportunity to practice, Monday – Friday for 8 weeks.
  5. Swimmers have the opportunity to compete in 7 swim meets and have 35 practice sessions.
  6. Each swimmer receives Team T-shirt and end of season trophy.
  7. Each practice is covered by our qualified professional coaches.
  8. All of our practices and home meets are conveniently located at FOSRC.
  9. 3 Team Socials and Super Festive End of Season Party.

To all of our returning Barracuda swimmers, we do need to let you know of our new practice times:

  1. 5-5:30 pm - 6 years old and under
  2. 5:30-6:10 pm - 7 & 8 year olds
  3. 6:10-6:50 pm - 9 & 10 year olds
  4. 6:50-7:30 pm - 11 & 12 year olds
  5. 7:30-8:30 pm - 13-18 year olds.

It is going to be a great season. We look forward to seeing all of our returning swimmers and meeting a bunch of new swimmers.The FOST Board is dedicated to making Summer League swimming as enjoyable as possible.We hope the 110 community will join with us this year and come together to support the Forest Oaks Swim Team Barracudas.
